If you don't have a long bow, you can get one by going past have and unlocking the door (master key), or you have to go to Andre in the parish and head to dark root basin. There is a longbow with the leather armor set in dark root basin before you get down to the hydra area.
From what I've read from various sources, I'm roughly 75% of the way through Dark Souls, but I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on Master Ninja so I know that game pretty well. I'd call Dark Souls about as tough as Gaiden on Master, its all about knowing your opponents, timing with animations, learning weaknesses and being careful not to be overconfident.
To backstab in Dark Souls 3 on PC, follow these simple steps: First, get behind your target. Hold the joystick toward your enemy. Press the attack button or RT while holding LB. Press the attack button again to backstab your enemy.
The lack of backstabs/parries for most powerful enemies is one reason why rogue/thief builds aren't terrible viable. They're only particularly good for fighting undead, which are easily dispatched anyway, then when you inevitably switch to a shield for the vast majority of tough enemies that require it you suck at it.
Wo Long’s Chinese setting isn’t a simple backdrop or skin that goes over the typical Dark Souls formula. The game’s story, characters, enemies, and lore all take inspiration from China’s
The real Sulyvahn’s fast slash is the one to parry. Stay close, move left and turn right when the clone harmlessly goes through you while it slashes. Hit the parry button immediately after turning right, before even seeing real Sulyvahn move. Max. difficulty level 5/5 and example 03:34.
If you're trying to backstab an enemy in a stun/stagger animation, for instance, after breaking its poise, no backstab. Everything else is positioning. If you obey these rules and don't get a backstab, you weren't in position. Honestly, backstabbing is the easiest and most broken aspect of Dark Souls' combat system.
Focus Souls - Soul Bolt, but there's four beams instead of one. One of the most powerful spells if it lands. If. Soul Flash - Another Dennis Special. A giant frickin' lazer beam from the sky engulfs the caster. Does way less damage than you'd think but can pancake someone going for a backstab. Further Reference. So you wanna be a spellcaster?
Ignore the weapon and focus on the hand. Black Knights are some of the easiest enemies to parry. Just practice on them for a bit and you should get the timing no problem. Like with a lot of enemies, the key is to watch the knight's weapon hand, rather than his weapon. Most of his attacks have a fairly long windup.
Run to the tower with Havel at the bottom. Right at the bottom where you fight him there should be a door, which you open with the Master Key OR the Watchtower Basement Key. Exit the door and you should see a cliff to your immediate left. Keep to the edge and keep left.
